Spreadsheet Activity Sheet #1

Open Microsoft Excel and follow the directions below.  Use the handout “Using the Spreadsheet Worksheet” to help you.  This is an individual project (no partners).

1.     In cells A1 through H1, type in these numbers in order:

25   85   13   76   94   38   47   9

2.     In cell A3, type in a formula that will add all 8 numbers together.

3.     In cell A5, type in a formula that will show the average of all 8 numbers.

4.     In cell A7, type in a formula that multiplies the numbers in A1, B1, and C1 together.

5.     In cell A9, type in a formula that takes your answer in cell A7 and divides it by 345.

6.     Look at the numbers in cells A1 through H1.  Find the highest and the lowest numbers.  In cell A11, type in a formula that subtracts the lowest number from the highest number.

Challenge Question

7.     In cell A16, type in a formula that finds the SUM of the numbers in cells A1 through D1 and SUBTRACTS the SUM of the numbers in cells E1 through H1.

When you finish your work, SAVE your work and PRINT a copy.  Take the printed copy to the teacher to be checked.

IF you have any mistakes, you must fix the problems and bring a copy back to the teacher.
